Summer of Sketching is a weekly challenge to get outside and sketch. 2017 is the 4th year running!
The challenge is simple, spend some time once a week sketching outdoors. You don't have to make a masterpiece, just draw. Draw by yourself, draw with friends, draw with your furry friends in the wilderness, up to you!
I started this challenge for myself in 2014 and it led to me creating consistently while enjoying the heck out of my summer outside. It keeps growing every year in hopes of getting more artists outside and over their fear of the dreaded blank page.
ABOUT THE EVENT
To celebrate the launch of Summer of Sketching, we are having sketch meetups in a few different cities. So far we have Manhattan, Minneapolis, Michigan, and Melbourne. (lot's of M's) I like it.
This NYC meetup will be in the backyard of Revival Bar near Union Square. We're gonna drink and draw for 3 hours and probably get food afterwards. Stop by and bring a friend!
BYO Sketchbook, Pencils, Pens, Markers
Minimal drawing supplies will be provided on a first come, first served basis (markers, pens, pencils, printer paper). This is a free event and seating is first come, first served.
